The Office
Our office was founded by Kyriakos Kaftanis in 1936. Kyriakos Kaftanis studied law at the Athens Law School. Following his graduation, he started practicing law with focus on labor, property, and commercial law. He served as legal counsel for the Interurban Busses Company (KTEL) and the Urban Transportation Company as well as for other companies of that time.
Kyriakos Kaftanis was succeeded by his daughter, Dr. Katerina Kaftani, a graduate of the University of Athens and the Sorbonne University. Under her direction, the office turned more to contract law (Greek and International contracts), public contracts, (public works contracts, procurement of supplies and services), property law, as well as to EU law (competition, state aid and matters of free movement of persons, goods and services), environmental law, urban planning law, litigation, arbitration and mediation.
Our office advises a broad client base, which includes among others major construction companies, banks, and investment entities, based both in Greece and abroad. We have repeatedly acted on their behalf before the National Courts and Authorities as well as before the bodies of the European Union. Our team consists of experienced and highly trained lawyers, graduates of some of the most prestigious Universities from all over the world. Furthermore, Dr Katerina Kaftani, a CIArb Accredited Mediator, engages in the representation of clients in arbitrations and mediations.
In our effort to provide our clients with full legal support, we have associated with the Law Firm Pappas & Associates in Brussels (rue Stevin 49/51 B-1000, tel. +32-2-2315704). We also cooperate with engineers, accountants, real estate agents and other consultant entities to provide a comprehensive package of services to our clients.
